20160110 talk ideas

How do magnets work? We understand the how the we must understand why they do what they do the gospel in the sometimes a lot like this too us as mortals we understand how the gospel works for this but me no understand why use powers work We are all imperfect beings, dealing with other imperfect beings, and we're doing it imperfectly. On how the Spirit works with us enter Showing different pictures on screen people situations old people child children crying helping praying etc Undoubtedly he helou felt many different emotions when looking at these photos aand may have brought you back to experiences in your own life. The emotions undoubtedly we each feel during looking at this phone photos R not all the same. In general the emotions may be the same hi looking at a child crying you may have compassion depending on the context of the photo when they feel some other emotions. The spirit of astronaut strike that undoubtedly also we feel when they have felt the spirit during looking at these photos. Undoubtedly the spirit touched each of us in different ways . We have also general ideas and how the Spirit works with us. Add scripture reference. These are guideposts along the way rather than specific not directions but what's the word? Indicators? Specifics? Definitions. No 1 can really tell you how you will feel this. There are many strike that because spirit is this so personal and it is spirituals only you really know when you feel it. But that doesn't mean that there aren't hunters with help exactly what you will feel, hand will be able to give you some indicators and 2 what you will feel may feel. Wow, great topic, as it fits so well into what we all discuss here. You've got a wealth of information here to peruse, I think if I had that topic I would go over faith, hope and belief, and the subtle differences between them. Then I would add in faith evolution. Maybe a bit of the iron rod/liahona talk, just cause that's what's on my mind. Prophesy and Our modern day prophets are not infallable. Not everyone in the church knows this, but we assume that even though we understand this fact, we still attribute a partial infallibility or "higher knowledge" to our leadership than is warranted. In judging the affairs of the church and running the organization that is the church globally all of the way down to bishops and branch presidents, yes they are the heads of the organization. They are the ones authorized to facilitate and make ultimate decisions regarding the affairs of their ward/branch. We need to separate where their authority ends and understand how we as heads of our own households and individuals manage our own sipirtuality. To those who feel like they must fit into a "Mormon mold" to have proper standing in the e church, may we remember David o Maka , who after a log line life e of presidents in dark suits and long beards, sported his famous white suit, wore his hair a little longer. His charisma and leadership set the church upon a world that looked at mormons as the ultimate cultural and religious exclusive, and said we are a mainstream church. This church should have and be place to have different voices, ideas, one main ethical standing the which is to love God and to love each other. Anyone who has deeply studied the church knows of its weaknesses as well as the overwhelming redemptive qualities of the implementation of the gospel of Christ. The fact is, that even some of our leadership do not understand, or for whatever other reason do not follow the admonition to listen to the spirit when dealing with those that they feel are going against the doctrines. The gospel is all-encompassing, non-exclusionary, Does the church want people who think for themselves or be full of those that follow blindly? Keep forcing thinkers and doubters out and you'll be left with sheep. Maybe that's OK for the church as lo g as they serve? I would hope not. I am like most ppl content to float along, but then when questions Co front at ions arise we don't or aren't prepared to deal with them. Usually we don't handle them well Managing the Sea of doubt Once you step off the safety of the shore of blissful ignorance or are summarily shoved off, you are then neck deep in the sea of doubt being either thrashed by the waves against the rocks or treading water. and undoubtedly this is disconcerting. So how do you manage? Rash decisions usually are not the best idea, and how do you plan for something that you've never experienced? Modern revelation, speaking of spiritual gifts, notes that while to some it is given to know the core truth of Christ and His mission, to others is given the means to persevere in the absence of certainty. The New Testament makes the point that those mortals who operate in the grey area between conviction and incredulity are in a position to choose most meaningfully, and with most meaningful consequences. Terryl L. Givens letter to a doubter Forgiveness comes easily thru the atonement of jesus christ. Ask and ye shall recieve seek and ye shall fi d knock and it shall be opened unto you. It takes a lifetime to work out who you are inside. Everyone has darkness and light within. The darkness grows the light chases out the darkness. Hopefully ove time the darlness is diminished and light shines forth. Oct 19 2013 We were taking a rrip as famoly and had stopped.in.the morning on.our way at a fast food rest. I remember telling jaden to holdnon to his electronic tavlet that the used so.much. we gathered our food and got back.o.to the road. About a half of an bour into the drive j says he lost tabldt. After loooking aroind the car for it and the worries i called theb fast fod rest and asked if anyone had tuerned it in. No. I asked then to.check around the resrt and they said it wss mot theere.. After awhile.and j realizing that it was gone he was crushed. Might as well have severed off his right arm. I asked j if he wanted to say a prayer and he said rhat he already had. I wss grateful that he had taken the initiative on his won to pray We said prayer and a few minituts lateri called back to ask that if anyone turned it in i would give them our phone jumber thinking that our prayer might change the mind of the person who had picked the talet up from just keeping it. That the spirit might work opin the conscoius of the person who had just found their christmas present a free tablet, to turn it in . Upon callejng them ths worker was excited and saidthat theg had found it. It wss there on a table. Why wasnt it foind before when i called the first time? Faith had een tested and now the outcome as clear. We had prayed and that whicb ass lost was fojndd.
