20141021

Prophesy and 20141021 Our modern day prophets are not infallable. Not everyone in the church knows this, but we assume that even though we understand this fact, we still attribute a partial infallibility or "higher knowledge" to our leadership than is warranted. In judging the affairs of the church and running the organization that is the church globally all of the way down to bishops and branch presidents, yes they are the heads of the organization. They are the ones authorized to facilitate and make ultimate decisions regarding the affairs of their ward/branch. We need to separate where their authority ends and understand how we as heads of our own households and individuals manage our own sipirtuality. To those who feel like they must fit into a "Mormon mold" to have proper standing in the e church, may we remember David o Maka , who after a log line life e of presidents in dark suits and long beards, sported his famous white suit, wore his hair a little longer. His charisma and leadership set the church upon a world that looked at mormons as the ultimate cultural and religious exclusive, and said we are a mainstream church. This church should have and be place to have different voices, ideas, one main ethical standing the which is to love God and to love each other. Anyone who has deeply studied the church knows of its weaknesses as well as the overwhelming redemptive qualities of the implementation of the gospel of Christ. The fact is, that even some of our leadership do not understand, or for whatever other reason do not follow the admonition to listen to the spirit when dealing with those that they feel are going against the doctrines. The gospel is all-encompassing, non-exclusionary, Does the church want people who think for themselves or be full of those that follow blindly? Keep forcing thinkers and doubters out and you'll be left with sheep. Maybe that's OK for the church as lo g as they serve? I would hope not. I am like most ppl content to float along, but then when questions Co front at ions arise we don't or aren't prepared to deal with them. Usually we don't handle them well Managing the Sea of doubt Once you step off the safety of the shore of blissful ignorance or are summarily shoved off, you are then neck deep in the sea of doubt being either thrashed by the waves against the rocks or treading water. and undoubtedly this is disconcerting. So how do you manage? Rash decisions usually are not the best idea, and how do you plan for something that you've never experienced?
